How To's With Hiatus: Budgeting Feature

Struggling to keep up with where your money is going? Or better yet, do you want to have better control of your finances? The Budgeting Feature for Hiatus users is the perfect tool to help you stay on top of your finances. Hiatus will help you monitor your spending and you can set custom budgets based on your spending habits. Take a look and see how you can take full advantage of this great feature.
Setting a Budget:
- Steps
- Tap on “Start New Budget”
- Choose between
- Suggested category
- Creating a custom budget
- Using a suggested category and adding/excluding vendors
- Tap save
- Name the budget and set a spending limit per week/month/or year
- Your new budget will appear in the Budgets tab in the Hiatus app
Editing Your Budget
Notice there’s a vendor included in a category that shouldn’t be there? That’s an easy fix!
- Steps
- Create a new suggested category budget
- Tap on the “-Exclude vendor” or “+ Add vendor”
- Type the name of the vendor that should or shouldn’t be in that category.
- This will add or delete all of the transactions from that given vendor for the given budget
- Once you have included all missing vendors or have excluded the vendors that shouldn’t be a part of that given budget, you can save your budget and set the desired spending limit.
Creating A Custom Budget
If you really want to crack down on your spending, creating a custom budget is the perfect way to tackle this task.
- Steps
- Tap on “Start New Budget”
- Start typing the names of the vendors you want included in the budget
- After each vendor, click enter to continue adding vendors to your budget
- Once all vendors have been included, save the budget
- Give your custom budget a name and set its spending limit
