How To's With Hiatus: Subscription Management

We’ve all been there before, you download an app to use its free trial version because it offers better features for a limited time. Within the hour, we see what it is that the app has to offer, close out the app and go about our day. Next month’s bill comes in and there’s that $19.99 charge because we forgot to cancel before the free trial ran out. With Hiatus Premium, you won’t fall victim to that anymore.


One of Hiatus Premium’s main features is its subscription manager. Users can track all of their subscriptions from one place and can cancel whichever ones they don’t need or may have forgotten about. In this How To tutorial, we will give you a rundown of how to fully take advantage of managing your subscriptions with Hiatus Premium.


Canceling a Subscription

Steps:

  1. Open the Hiatus dashboard and locate the subscription
  2. Tap on the subscription you want to cancel and then “Manage subscription”
  3. Tap on “Cancel Subscription”
  4. Fill out subscription’s information
  5. Subscription is now in process of being canceled
  6. If subscription can’t be deleted from the app
  7. User is brought to vendor’s website
  8. Input information and cancellation process will take place
  9. Hiatus will provide you with step-by-step instructions to cancel subscription if user needs to reach out personally to vendor



Adding a Subscription Manually

Steps: 

  1. Open the Hiatus dashboard and notice missing subscription
  2. Make sure payment method is linked to Hiatus
  3. Check by searching for that subscription in list of transactions
  4. If it can’t be located, tap “Link another account” to sync subscriptions associated to that account
  5. Tap “Edit” next to “Upcoming Bills”
  6. Tap on “Add Missing Subscription” 
  7. Type name of missing subscription that needs to be added
  8. Tap on the plus sign (+) icon
  9. Name the subscription how you want it to appear in the Hiatus app
  10. Tap Submit
  11. Confirmation window with “Subscription Added” will appear



Renaming a Manually Added Subscription

  1. Tap on manually added subscription 
  2. Tap on the pencil icon located in the top right corner
  3. Change the subscription’s name to what it desired
  4. Tap “Done”


Deleting a One-off Charge Labeled as a Subscription

Steps:

  1. Tap on the subscription that needs to be removed
  2. Tap on “Manage Subscriptions”
  3. Click on “Hide from Subscription List”
  4. Users can view all hidden subscriptions from the Hiatus dashboard by clicking “Edit” next to “Upcoming Bills” and tapping “View Hidden Subscriptions”
  5. These subscriptions can be taken of this list by tapping on the plus sign (+) icon
